Julie-Ann Shapiro, Esquire

Experience

Julie-Ann Shapiro has been practicing law since 1989. She is a cum laude graduate of Syracuse University College of Law. After graduating from law school, she worked with the Boston law firms of Morrison, Mahoney and Miller, Campbell and Associates and Niarchos and Toto. In 1999, Attorney Shapiro founded Shapiro Elder Law and Estate Planning in Lexington, Massachusetts, with her father, Jerry Friedman.

Attorney Shapiro focuses on the needs of senior citizens and their families in the areas of elder law, estate planning and special needs planning. Whether she is helping seniors plan for the future or helping them in times of crisis, her goal is to give her clients and their families peace of mind. This often involves estate planning, asset preservation, maximizing the use of long-term care benefits including Medicaid/MassHealth, and helping loved ones plan for a family member with special needs.

Attorney Shapiro is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (“NAELA”), and the Massachusetts Chapter of NAELA. She is co-chair of Lexington’s Council on Aging, and sits on the board of Lexington Youth and Family Services.

We take into consideration the whole family when developing and implementing a plan for our clients. Our approach is client-centered. We take the time to explain concepts in an effort to empower the client so they can make educated decisions throughout the planning process.

We are committed to providing compassionate and respectful care of our clients. We have built our business on personalized service and attention to each one of our clients by taking the time to understand and anticipate their needs. Our clients depend upon us for solutions to work best with their individual circumstances.
